Announcing Mail Merge Support from DocSend

Announcing DocSend Mail Merge Support

Use a single link to uniquely track engagement from mail merge recipients

You’re an email pro. You use mail merge to send personalized messages to your clients en masse. You want the benefits of sending individual DocSend links but don’t want to create hundreds of links one at a time.

Problem solved! We’re excited to announce support for mail merge links. If you’re on a DocSend Team or Enterprise plan, you can now use a single link in a mail merge email and track engagement uniquely for each recipient.

To create a mail merge link simply append “?email=” followed by a merge field for the recipient’s email address to the end of any DocSend link.

For example: https://docsend.com/view/yvcpbyb?email=<MailMergeEmailPlaceholder>

Here’s a quick rundown on how to use mail merge links in a few popular platforms:

In Yesware

  1. Create a new mail merge as you normally would.
  2. In the compose area, click the link button to insert a link into your message.
  3. In the URL field, paste the DocSend link to the document you want to send. Then add to the end “?email=” without the quotes.
  4. Add the {!Email} merge field after the equal sign to dynamically fill in your contact’s email address. You should now have a URL that looks like https://docsend.com/view/yvcpbyb?email={!email}
